For the second time in four years and its first since the Covid pandemic, IFF Global Seawed Sourcing and UD Rahmat Bahari jointly sponsored a beach cleanup by about 150 women seaweed farmers in Suana Village, Semaya, Nusa Penida Island, Bali in celebration of the 2022 World Oceans Day. In coordination with the village government who provided a mini-lecture on plastic waste management, the event aimed to reinforce women farmers’ role as custodians of the ocean. About 20 sacks of solid plastic waste were collected and turned over to the village solid waste collection for proper disposal.
