It gives us information about the ancient sea level,
on the shoreline, on the climate of the past and therefore on the evolution of the territory.
Makara Beach : a stony beach for walking, fishing, diving and excersising your dog!
We took some sunset photos from here!
We will certainly come back here when we have more time so we can follow the 6km Makara Walkway (managed by the Department of Conservation) that starts at the beach and follows the coast before a gradual climb to the cliff tops, where there are spectacular views (which we did not know beforehand and which one of the residents who we met there on the beach told us! ) of Mana, Kapiti and the South Island.
I can just imagine what a beautiful view one will have up there where the sun is peeking at you now!
Before Google Maps, Secret Beach, located in Southern Oregon, was truly a well-kept secret. There is no signage, only a few unmarked parking spots, and the trail to the beach is not marked. If you take the time to find this beach you will be rewarded with one of the most visually stunning coastal sections in all of Oregon.
Grants (North Haven) Beach is located on the north side of the Camden Haven River mouth in northern New South Wales. The beach runs north-south for about 3.5 kilometres and is paralleled by a lovely walking track through the littoral forest and heathland. This picturesque beach is a short drive from my home and one of my favourites because for most of the time it's deserted, and that's the way I like my beaches.
A look through some old beach days, and some cloud fun. Days with wet feet and cold hands, but a warm glow of excitement as clouds dance across the wet sand. I can't wait to watch those wonderful dances again. All Our Tomorrows is by Ron Sexsmith.
A picture of shapes - Every year, just when it's all full of color and pretty, someone comes along and steals all the flowers. I thought I should at least document that in a photo. Oh, and where did the rest of the bridge go :)
