This night photograph was taken in Leadenhall Market, one of the oldest markets in London (from the 14th century) and located in the historic centre of the City of London financial district. The ornate roof structure and cobbled floors of the current structure was designed in 1881. It was a quiet evening with few visitors.

According to Wikipedia, Leadenhall Market was used to represent the area of London near the Leaky Cauldron and Diagon Alley in the film Harry Potter and the Philosopher's Stone.

Best wishes for the new week!

London is a city that I have always wanted to visit and we traveled there last week for my son’s school vacation. I knew that I wanted to photograph the Elizabeth Tower (mostly known as Big Ben) at night and because the Thames River and clouds were rapidly moving I wanted to shoot it as a long exposure. I ended up using a 20 second shutter speed which smoothed out the moving water and clouds, created starbursts to the street lights on the bridge and quieted everything in the composition down.

City Hall is on the left and on the right the Shard - a great view of this area of the city and I was very, very luck y to catch such a beautiful sky

This photo was taken two days before the terrorist attacks, remember those who died in the incident.

The London Eye, or the Millennium Wheel, is a cantilevered observation wheel on the South Bank of the River Thames in London. It is Europe's tallest cantilevered observation wheel, and the most popular paid tourist attraction in the United Kingdom with over three million visitors annually. It has made many appearances in popular culture. The structure is 135 metres (443 ft) tall and the wheel has a diameter of 120 metres (394 ft). When it opened to the public in 2000 it was the world's tallest Ferris wheel.

Enjoying the London views.

The National Rail station is officially named London Paddington, a name commonly used outside London but rarely by Londoners, who call it just Paddington, as on the London Underground map.

This same practice applies to all the London mainline rail termini, except London Bridge.

Parts of the station, including the main train shed, date from 1854, when it was built by Isambard Kingdom Brunel as the London terminus for the Great Western Railway (GWR).

It is one of eleven stations in London managed by Network Rail

My only shot from a morning visit to the London Tube. One of the lines I had planned to shoot was shut down for weekend service, and another had an accident so that line was down.

just a jackknife has Macheath, dear, and he keeps it out of sight

I took this shot of iconic symbol of London the Tower Bridge this summer. It is a combined bascule and suspension bridge in the city of London. It spans the River Thames, connecting the London boroughs of Tower Hamlets at North side and Southwark at south side. It has two towers linked by two walkways and suspended sections to either side of the towers, stretching towards the banks of the Thames. It's one of the most mesmerizing structures in London and you can never get enough of it!

I love the mixture of old and modern in London. The modern buildings have such interesting shapes.
