Three things cannot be long hidden: the sun, the moon, and the truth.

ARTHUR'S THEME – RONAN KEATING

The moon shines bright for me tonight

the day before the super moon

where all things seemed impossible

now dreams can all come true

the magic of the light plays tricks

with shadows on the walls

but the shadows that once darkened eyes

have gone as darkness falls

I sit here now at teatime

to write this poem for you

how could it be for anyone else

when the moon comes shining through

Luna you are my friend and sister

you make me smile each day

and I feel so much happier

when I see that you're okay

Both of us have shed our tears

together late at night

but now we both have found some joy

we beat that endless fight

compassion, love is all we need

a world devoid of pain

you paint the world so beautiful

bright rainbows after rain

and sometimes gentler, soft bokehs

in pastel shades and Roses

where little Bunny plays in gardens

Kitty made with love and posies

flowers, trees of such great beauty

adorn this peaceful place

as calm as the Sea of Tranquility

enchanting; filled with grace

So as I look up to the Moon

I know that you are there

seeing me through loving eyes

granting wishes; saying prayers

as Autumn falls and fades away

and Winter takes it's place

you promised me that I'd be well

in a butterfly dream I saw your face

Hermione waves her magic wand

as Harry stands idly by

She is the most important one

he recognised with a sigh

but he doesn't mind because he loves her so

and he's happy to let her shine

because he knows the moonlight comes from her

this beautiful sister of mine.

I was birding in a country road and this beautiful moon was just looking at me...

The moon didn't show up in our sky on the Super Blue Blood Moon day. Clouds were so heavy.

Two days later, it finally popped out. So naughty. Still very bright.

Top-left part is already missing (on your moon, right-side starts shrinking, check it out tonight).

Moon behaves differently between North and South.

I am always fascinated.

Super moon on Sydney sky -14 of November 2016.

Late that night the sky cleared and we could see the largest moon in 69 years.

OK so not really my Moon but my unique view of the Moon from my back garden.

The moon was very elusive, only showing itself behind drifting clouds for a short time.

Some surreal and peaceful scenery to ease my own mind. This is a composite photo - the haze is taken from the beautiful mountainous area in northern Taiwan, added with the moon. Hope you also like it.

Heading towards a Harvest Moon - tonights moon was a fabulous colour. It's been a hot day here so we sat in the garden watching the moon rise.

Super Moon taken early morning just as it was about to disappear from sight. Bournemouth Dorset.

I was waiting for sunset on that little road on the left handside if the road, then, when I turned my head on the right hand side of the road is this massive full moon! double happiness for me,stayed there just to watch it with my music on! Bliss!, wish you here!!

In the wrong place 😆 I had hoped it would be slightly further to the left! My lame attempt at photographing the Sturgeon Moon. Turns out I'd forgotten everything I'd learnt about night photography. This was rescued from several unrelated shots 😂

And I've got really burnt legs from falling asleep in the sun yesterday! Disaster zone.

The Moon is the only celestial body to which humans have travelled and upon which humans have performed a manned moon landing. The first artificial object to escape Earth's gravity and pass near the Moon was the Soviet Union's Luna 1, the first artificial object to impact the lunar surface was Luna 2, and the first photographs of the normally occluded far side of the Moon were made by Luna 3, all in 1959. The first spacecraft to perform a successful lunar soft landing was Luna 9; this was soon followed with the first successful lunar soft landing by Surveyor 1 and the first unmanned vehicle to orbit the Moon by Luna 10, all in 1966. The United States (U.S.) Apollo program achieved the only manned missions to date, resulting in six landings between 1969 and 1972. Human exploration of the Moon ceased with the conclusion of the Apollo program, although a few robotic landers and orbiters have been sent to the Moon since that time. Several countries have announced plans to return humans to the surface of the Moon in the 2020s.

Still want to catch the moon slightly earlier than this to get that real nice earth shine that can be seen ... but the past two evenings were cloudy ... so maybe next month.

You get a hint of the dark side of the moon here, but just a hint.

March 11, technically the day after the full moon. I need a bigger lens :-(

The Moon imaged from London on the 2nd January 2023.

This was taken last Saturday still daylight infront of my house..hence it rained and had a storm here today which meant to have a beautiful super-moon unfortunately I don't think I could shoot something tonight!
