Side Events

In connection with the 2022 UN Ocean Conference, to be held from 27 June to 1 July at the Altice Arena in Lisbon, there will be side events organized by Member States, Intergovernmental Organizations (IGOs), UN entities and all other accredited stakeholders.

Side events will take place inside the Conference venue daily from 10:00 AM to 7 PM. Several side events will also be held outside of the Altice Arena in various locations across Lisbon; as well as virtually. Details including location and timing of all side events can be found in the respective side event programs.  

The organizers of all approved side events have been contacted by the Conference Secretariat. Side event organizers are invited to visit here  for FAQ with more detailed information about organizational matters for all side events.

Questions about side event locations outside the Conference venue can be sent to Ms. Filipa Francisco ( ana.francisco@mne.pt ), Mr. Bruno Lima ( bruno.lima@mne.pt ) and Ms. Lineke Schrijver ( lineke.schrijver@ un.org ). For side events held outside the Conference venue, side event organizers are responsible for choosing the event location and must bear ALL costs incurred.  DISCLAIMER 

Official intergovernmental meetings at the venue will have first priority over all other events or meetings. Although rare, side events may have to be canceled at the last minute if an urgent intergovernmental meeting needs to use the conference room where the side event was already scheduled to take place.
