Flickr is a global community united by photography. What makes Flickr special is the rich connection, interaction, and discussion between members. Please keep the following guidelines in mind as you’re interacting with Flickr members and staff in the Help Forum.
Flickr’s Help Forum Guidelines
The Flickr Help Forum is a space to ask questions about using Flickr. Flickr members are here to help and Flickr staff will occasionally post information about new features and other announcements.
When posting or responding to a question...
Write as descriptively as possible. The more details you can provide, the better the Flickr community will be able to assist you.
Stay on-topic. Make sure your comments are relevant to the original post. Keep the discussion productive and focused.
Be patient. Keep in mind that everyone has a different experience level when it comes to photography and using Flickr. Please be patient as members share their experiences and work through solutions.
Be respectful. Personal attacks, swearing, or other abusive language in the Help Forum is a violation of our community guidelines and are prohibited. Spam and questions or comments unrelated to using Flickr are also not allowed.
Keep feedback constructive. We love to hear from you about your experience using Flickr. When you can, please provide specifics about how an existing feature or a feature idea that you have could impact the experience that you have on Flickr.
Participating in the Help Forum
Before posting a new topic to the Help Forum, try searching to see if anyone has recently shared the same question or issue. We may reroute threads that are relevant to existing topics.
If you’d like to post a new topic, scroll to the bottom of the main Help Forum page and click “Create a new thread!”
If you have an idea that could help us improve your experience on Flickr, check the “Hot topics” section of the Help Forum for our current ideas thread and share it there.
How Flickr Staff Enforces the Forum Guidelines
Flickr staff actively monitors the Help Forum to ensure that everyone finds assistance and that everyone is following these guidelines.
We may occasionally allow threads that are related to photography in general, as Help Forum members usually know of Flickr Groups or other resources that can offer more support.
When we notice reports of bugs that impact others, we’ll step in to investigate and provide updates. In these cases, we may edit the topic of the post and add “Investigating” or “Resolved” in an effort to provide clarity to everyone.
We may step into the conversation, delete or edit comments, close unproductive threads, send someone a warning, or remove them from the Help Forum altogether if we feel that such comments and behaviors violate our guidelines. In instances where we edit a comment, we will note that this action has been taken by Flickr staff.
How to Reach Flickr Staff
If you prefer direct assistance or you’d like to bring something in the Help Forum to our attention, we have a team of Support Heroes that are dedicated to providing Heroic Support 364 days a year. Check out our Help Center to contact them.
