Please, please, please, please, please start reading and actually acting on abuse reports that members go to the trouble of submitting.
If an account is sanctioned automatically when an abuse report is submitted that's great, obviously.
However, if accounts are not automatically sanctioned (spam, scam and/or non-safety-moderated stuff), then absolutely nothing gets done and the offending accounts are left to spam, scam and clog the place up with unmoderated images.
You ask us to report abuses of this nature.
How about staff hold up their end of the deal and read the reports and then act on them?
This is the umpteenth time that I (and I am far from alone in this) have tried to bring this problem to staff's attention).
Thanks, in not too much hope. :-(

Hm, I'm curious. How is this different from the recent official wish list thread which was closed two weeks ago?

Is there a specific difference in what you are looking for in this thread?

To follow up on what Nionyn has stated above, I would ask that you do away with the notion of "serial spammers" (that is to say, if someone spams once, that might be ok, but not so if they continue) and working with spammers privately because they may have "good intentions".
Spam is bad, and Flickr should really have a zero tolerance policy for it.

We know that you've flagged numerous instances of spam, thank you for that. This is an ongoing effort on our end and as we've communicated in the past, it remains an area that we need to improve on. We do review every report that we receive and we very recently added more staff to this team. We'll keep working on it.

It's not a revolutionary new idea, but I have to suggest it (again again):
A new layout for profile landing pages (photostreams)
I have always hated current messy presentation of photos in the photostream, and the lack of a teaser for your albums.
I think current layout reflects the period when Yahoo wanted to make Flickr into either a quick dumb photo storage or an Instagram competitor where only latest uploads mattered (Actually rather schizophrenic and impossible to combine those two ambitions, but Yahoo has never been proved to be clever).
I would like something I can point friends and family to and without sounding stupid calling it "My Gallery". For me ideally a place where I can see latest uploads presented big and nice (not the mess of current photostream), combined with a teaser for my albums. Conceptually that was actually how Flickr started, and God, I miss it that way (At least the concept - A new layout needs to be updated to modern looks and photo-sizes of course:-) ). And of course there's also the challenge to get it working on both mobile and desktop - but maybe split it instead of trying to use the same layout for both kind of devices and use cases?
Clearly my primarily concern is the desktop layout. That is where it matters most to me how my photos are presented. But we are all different, and use Flickr in different ways. Especially after the mixed ways Flickr has been marketed during the years. So ideally give people a choice, and bring back configurable layouts like we had some years ago:
No doubt the selected option above is the one I personally would choose. Especially if the first couple of lines in photo-descriptions of latest uploads also are visible, so I can use page as a combined photo-blog and gallery frontpage. Photos will be presented much nicer in a layout like this, and "teaser-column" with albums ensures that people can find all my photos and themes.
Before Flickr changed photostream layout to current, I had lots of views on my albums - and older photos in general. But from one day to another when Flickr removed the option of albums on frontpage, album-views went to zip, zarro, zero, none. And I'm sure ordinary casual visitors never sees anything but first and maybe second page in my photostream.
But yes, I have said all this before...

I've said this before as well, but to carry on from Stig's post, I think it's time to get rid of justified view. Let's show some more context with images instead of a wall of photos. I really believe that showing a bit of the metadata, like title and perhaps number of faves and views would drive the magical unicorn of "engagement".
I know that info is "sort of" there now for desktop users, but it requires an unnecessary mouse over. Mobile users don't even get that. Justified view wasn't a great idea in 2013 (I was one of the folks in SF for the rollout) and it's still not a good idea now. Perhaps take a cue from the current photostream edit view. The work has already been done there.

We think your idea of opening this thread and keeping it open is a very good idea. When the thread that Kmacgray mentioned earlier was open and active is when we had the greatest sense of community on Flickr. So, we think your re-opening of that thread through this one is a very good idea. As you said it offers the idea of keeping communication open. Not just between Flickr staff and Flickr members but, also between members and the greater membership. One of the very real downsides to groups is that groups tend to isolate members from the greater community. Why is this important? Because it is so deafening quiet in virtually all of the groups at this time. They are more like echo chambers than active discussion groups.
This brings us to our suggestion. In the past we suggested replacing groups with forums. That may be too extreme a step for most. If not that then this: create two forums one for the greater Flickr community to discuss all Flickr issues. Then create a forum to discuss all photography issues. We think this would more augmate than deduct from Flickr.
By our experience, finding an active group on Flickr is nearly impossible. If you could how would you look for one? There are thousands of groups on Flickr. But, virtually all are only for posting photos, with no discussions, with no active administration or monitoring. How do you eliminate all such groups in order to find the active ones which have active memberships that coordinate the discussions to the posted photos and are actively managed? Looking for such groups is tediously impossible at the present time on Flickr.
So give people a choice. They can mindlessly post and post photos to a group. And, they can go to an active forum to discussion photography with others who are interested in doing so also.
This is our suggestion. Because one thing Flickr badly needs is a place to go to find its 'community'.

I would love to use a layout that shows my collections in a right sidebar. Giving people a choice of layout would be awesome. I also think the justified view diminishes the viewing experience. To be honest, right now I'd prefer people landing on my About page, rather than my Photostream. On the About page, there's the Showcase which I edit now and then, and the text section which I can use to greet people.
But mainly, at this point, anything other than the photostream as a landing page would be preferable.

Yet another wish list. What is done from the previous ones?
Well maybe this time Flickr would say something like: from your wishes we are going to do these points, and we publish it here in the HF so you can see how the progress is going on.
Or you just go on playing games and this tooic will be closed again.

The goal of these threads is to maintain an open line of communication between Flickr members and staff. We may close older feedback threads and start new ones from time to time when older threads become long and difficult for members and staff to search and respond to.
I've mentioned this in other threads, but while we don't implement every idea, these conversations do help us maintain a clear sense of what's important to all of you. When we have progress to share, we'll be sure to post updates, too.

I really think albums need a lot of work. As other people have described they seem buried in the interface and difficult to showcase to other users. I'd really like to see smart albums that auto update and sort them selves based on criteria you set tags, metadata, location etc. For instance I'd like to draw a geo-fence on a map and have any upload taken within the area to automatically be added to a specific album. I also find it really frustrating that you can order albums according to different criteria such as date taken but subsequent additions to the album ignore this setting and you and you have to go back into the organiser and re-order the album. I'd also like a new album 'map' view that doesn't require you to manually add /map/ after the album URL.
Also I'm not really sure this is an effective way for you to get feature suggestions. Why can't we have a system/platform where feature requests are submitted and voted upon with a status so people can see clearly whether it's rejected or in development etc. with estimated time scales.

"but while we don't implement every idea, these conversations do help us maintain a clear sense of what's important to all of you."
We think the members who have mentioned that this thread seems to be simply a 're-do' of the previous wish list are telling you something, and may bear a listen to. Coming back with a reply as you have here is more defensive than explanatory. Surely you must understand no one expects you to 'implement every idea' as you have said. What is asked is that you implement some of the ideas offered so that the members can feel you have heard them. Without that surely you can see their point when you have implemented nothing from the many and considerable suggestions made in the wish list thread yet. To ask the members to have faith in you you must show them that their faith is well placed.
We appreciate that you are well meaning and well intended. And, as we have written to you in the past we do appreciate what you have done in your tenure here by simply offering to listen. But, at this time since you have already received what you asked for, the members are interested in seeing results, we believe.

Is there any chance of getting dynamic ”my feed” not only based on people and groups I follow but also on photos I like? Some algorithm choosing photos for me from any Flickr member, ever learning my likes or dislikes. As I told you before it is not for everyone to search for photos to one's taste all over the Flickr. I still follow only 1 person after having been here for two-three months. I just don't have an idea how to find anything from millions of photos. I just don't see any. Groups with weird descriptions, often dead, people, people, people... Should I click on every one in hope to find something interesting? My time is short.

One more asking to let people get rid of advertising. Just advertising and Flickr's own irritating advertising of their Pro. I guess I am not the only one who does not need statistics, auto-uploader, Adobe, Peak Design, Blurb and other useless things in some countries where people don't have 70$/year for that. Why do you prefer forcing me out from Flickr with your wild ads instead of letting me pay you 5, 10, 15$ ?

I suggest Flickr does not set members on edge by supporting "known" sock puppet accounts instead of sending them packing, not only from the HF but from Flickr.
Then I also suggest to get wise to the true nature and intentions of spammers. How unscrupulous intentions to get spam in front of everyone's eyes can ever be "good" seems a whole new psychological approach which I find totally mystifying.
EDIT : Don’t spam
We do not tolerate spam, period. Etc.
Flickr should enforce its own Guidelines.

I thought the manually curated selection of images from the BLM protests that made up Explore for June 10th was a great idea.
I'm wondering whether you are considering repeating this concept in the future for other subject matters. I appreciate the level of resource required means that this might be infrequent even if it was regular but it's a great way of varying the look and feel of what is selected.

We do review every report that we receive and we very recently added more staff to this team. We'll keep working on it.
Thank you for your reply. I appreciate it.
I have in fact reported many thousands of instances of spam, scamming and misflagged images over the years.
I have also had to get used to having to report a significant number of them numerous times before anything was done about them.
With some (despite their being obvious and egregious rule-breakers) I've just given up and the accounts are still live and acting exactly as they did.
This situation has unfortunately been allowed to get worse.
It's good to know that Flickr has recently taken on more staff to deal with this.
I feel for them. They have a huge amount of work ahead of them just to catch up with how things were a few years ago, let alone actually improve things.
I really hope that these new staff members are working on attending to abuse reports submitted by members who actually care about this situation, and that they are not just working on AI that may or may not make any discernible difference at some unknown time in the future.
.
I had imagined a situation where not all abuse reports were read because staff were simply snowed under.
But your assertion that all abuse reports are read is actually far more concerning.
It suggests that reports submitted by members who care enough to go through the time-consuming and sometimes over-laborious process of submitting these reports have their reports deliberately binned by staff, without any action being taken.
If that is correct it is an absolutely disgusting way for Flickr to treat its members.
Utterly appalling.
I find it astonishing that a self-respecting company should allow itself to treat its paying customers in such an offhand and cavalier fashion.
Flickr asks us to make these reports.
So we, as members who care, go to the time and effort of doing what we're asked to do.
Again, because we care.
And then Flickr staff read them and simply bin half of them.
Unbelievable.
.
As an example, could you please tell me why a number of reports I submitted on an account nearly three weeks ago have still not been acted upon?
It is one of the all-too-typical largely unmoderated SL accounts, with numerous T&A images that should obviously be 'moderate' or 'restricted' but have all been left as 'safe'.
I even went to the time and trouble of making it really easy for the abuse team, by reporting not just the account but about half a dozen images that are clearly in violation of the guidelines.
Nothing has been done about the account in question, of course, and I have now become so jaded by Flickr's atrocious attitude to abuse reports that I am not in the slightest bit surprised.
Thanks for your time.

Seconded.
As I see it, there are two possible reasons for staff not doing this.
The first is that, even when the situation is clearly pointed out to them, they do not use discussion groups much and so do not recognise the serial offenders, sock-puppet accounts etc. for what they are.
The second is that they don't care or have been told to leave these offensive accounts alone.
I could be wrong, but for now I'm going to go with the first possibility.
All the same, it's a pity that they can't even take a hint. ;-)

Group feed - optimization for efficient work with the app (mobile)
As a rule, I call up my groups and look at the pictures in order to then favor them or integrate them into galleries.
I have to find out that the same pictures always appear in my groups. This is because most of the pictures are presented in countless groups. The background is probably to be seen in the fact that the user hopes that this will result in an increased response from other users, i.e. higher clicks or views, comments, favorites, etc. This is understandable, but extremely annoying.
In order to make my work easier, I would like a function that shows all pictures at once for all my groups. This would have the advantage that the pictures posted several times in the groups only appear once, which would mean a significant relief. In addition, I could imagine further optimizations for this function:
• Maximum number of images from the individual groups (e.g. the 10, 20 or 50 latest images as an optional default)
• I do not want to see pictures I have already seen. And if that should be too difficult, simply do not show the favorite or commented pictures.
• Some users always push their uploaded images forward to the beginning of the group by changing the upload date. This is understandable, but just as annoying.
The remedy could be a new database field that cannot be changed by the user. Here you should list how often a user changes the data in an image. The group feed I requested should not show pictures that have more than 5 changes (optional).
All in all, this should be a manageable task for a mainframe. This function does not have to be calculated permanently for all users, but only on request. In the app, the favorites are shown as the first point in the albums. I could also imagine this new function. This function, which can be called individually, then takes some computing time, which would be no problem for me. The additional benefit, depending on how the options are set, would be that you can efficiently look deep into the groups in small groups via the group feed.

We are not sure if this is possible with Flickr's system. When in a conversation on the Help Forum there is no notification of additional comments after our most recent one as in conversations in groups. When there is a conversation going on in a group there is a notification we receive for recent entries. When we click these notifications 'on' it takes us to these recent comments which are at the end of the conversation. Thus we don't have to page through the entire conversation once more before getting to these entries. However, for conversations on the Help Forum we do not receive notifications of recent entries to conversations we are in and following. This means that we must open anew each conversation to learn of any new entries and then scroll, often for some considerable period, to the end of the conversation. Could there be a way to make conversations in the Help Forum or any other forum there might be on Flickr to send notifications to the accounts of members participating in the conversation? And, also begin reading from the newest or most recent entry rather than having to keep scrolling down from the beginning each time as now? Thank you.

It IS possible to view slideshows of at least photostreams and albums, and possibly some other "things" (The "screen" button above stream/album). But you cannot link directly to them. In the "old days" a appending "/show" to your URL would start a slideshow.
I never use current slideshow option though, because it is MUCH to fast running for me to get any enjoyment out of it, and you cannot adjust the speed of the slideshow.
Agree we need better slideshow support:
1) Bring back the option to look at "everything" as a slideshow.
2) Give slideshows a "permalink" again, so we can bookmark and link to them. Preferable same "/show" URLs like in the old day (Lots of old pages outside Flickr still have links pointing to these no more existing "/show"-slideshows).
3) Make speed adjustable. And we need option to make it MUCH slower than current.

You have enough space there to enlarge this buttons and increase usability. You can leave the same size of button icons (cross, star, speech bubble, etc..), but enlarge a tapable area. Here are a couple more ideas
I would love to see page numbers on the top of my Recently Activity Page. It is current on the bottom but both locations would be idea.
I have a group that is admin invite only.
when i want to add my photo, as a admin, i can not invite it, nor can i post it. I must, currently, go into :
Administration
Moderating my group
change the submissions
save
post my photo
then change the submissions
back and save
very cumbersome, admins should be able to add their photo directly into their group such as this.

This is not an original suggestion. We've seen it somewhere else on Flickr but, can't recall where. Maybe it was not considered because it was either in the wrong place or it was the wrong time for it. But, we'd like to echo it once again.
In order to promote more social interaction we'd like to suggest another method of interaction be made available when viewing others' photos. We'd like to see another symbol added that would mean 'we like the photo you did'. Presently, the 'fave' button is supposed to serve this purpose. But, for us (and we think for many others) our fave gallery is exclusively for photos we'd like to keep to see again and again. So, we use the 'fave' button sparingly. We would like another button to quickly pass on some recognition and appreciation.
This comes up for us because of a unique issue we have. There are four of us on one account. With all of us looking at the photographers we like and commenting on their photos each day we soon get shut down by some Flickr bot for leaving too many comments. We think this is some sort of spam reduction method which is over protective. All it is is just four people on one account using Flickr more intensely than one account usually does. With a 'we like it' button this may all go away, for us.

If, as you claim, there are four of you using one account - and this is what is causing you problems - what exactly is preventing the four of you from having an account each?
This is easy to do, even on one computer, and would be far simpler than Flickr having to implement the change you suggest.
You would not even need to log out of one account to use another.
All you would need to do is to use four different browsers, each one logged in to a different account.
That way you could even have each account open in a different browser at the same time, and simply switch between them when another of you wants to comment, fave or whatever.
Easy, end of problem, and nobody at Flickr would need to jump though hoops to implement a new feature just for you.
An additional benefit (and potentially a major one) would be that you would then be acting entirely within Flickr's rules. The matter of numerous individuals all using the same account, while not unusual within families (especially couples), has historically been a bit of a grey area as far as the 'official' line from Flickr has been concerned.

Nice to see that the Comments function on the activity feed got a little makeover, but there's one glaring omission:
Please enable Ctrl-Enter as a shortcut to submit the comment, consistent with the bahaviour on the photo page and (similar to other social platforms. It makes things a little easier and less mouse-dependent.
Thanks

Once upon a distant time (certainly pre-2013 major overhaul, maybe longer), it was possible to go from a photo page with ONE CLICK to all of the photos that you took/uploaded on the same date. I sure would like to be able to do that again someday. (Well aware that the Camera Roll provides this functionality ... but not via a single click from the photo page.)
Similarly, back in the old days, you could jump to the page in a group pool where the photo could be found. That one's less important to me, but its absence still reminds me of how Flickr was more "explorable" once upon a time.

it would be really nice to fix some bugs that are show-stoppers for some users. like, for example, the impossibility to edit and delete tags that contain non-ascii characters, like accents.
making the website work well on smartphones would be nice. not everyone want to install the app, and there is no reason that the website should not work well on smartphones. most importantly, it should display photos full-screen.
It would be super nice to have a way to select multiple tags to batch-delete them. i have literally 10,000+ tags and i big number of them should be deleted, but it is so painful to delete those tags one by one that i gave up. having check-boxes in the tag page, with the ability to batch delete tags, would be great.
Also, my tags page is basically un-usable. It takes me about 5-10 min to fully load (with super fast internet and a fast desktop!). It should be partitioned / paginated per first character of each tag, to make it usable for people who have many tags, so that the entire 10000 or so tags don't need to be loaded on one single page.
And that image full-text search that matches art with artificial, etc, should be fixed. partial match are great is some cases, but up to a point only, and there should be a way to look for exact word match using double-quotes.
Also, it would be nice to provide access to the autotags with the API.
Some updating of the API documentation would be nice. for example, add the "extra" parameter in the API explorer, and document the values it can take... e.g. the extra parameter can be "sizes" with photos.getInfo, which saves a call to photos.getSizes, so it's a win win, less useless API traffic.
oh, another thing that really infuriated me: when watching a set as slideshow, sometimes i want to stop on a particular photo to view its details on the photo-page. Well, there is no way to do that. exiting the slideshow returns to the beginning of the set page, while the image i stopped on could be very far down, so hard to located again (in large sets).
for me, most of the issues are with usability of existing features.
to be continued...

Turn off recommendations in the feed! That would be wish number 1,2 and 3.
If for some reason we can't be trusted to choose what we'd like to see for ourselves, because hey there's nothing better than a company telling us what we ought to be into, could you at least make the recommendations relevant? If I follow a bunch of street and urban photography groups, what makes your algorithm think I'm into photoshop generated fantasy art?
This is one of the reasons I left Flickr in the first place. I check back in years later, and not a single thing has changed or been fixed.

I think you might be referring to the "filmstrips" bottom right below the photo.
Indeed, much more "explorable'.
( I believe the filmstrips were removed with the coming of the NPE (beginning of 2014) and then remained removed when, in the summer of that same year we got the photo page we have now.)

Context strips. They disappeared with one of the overhauls of 2013/4, not sure which one. Indeed context strips made flickr much more "explorable". I always considered them as one of the best features flickr had and taking them away as one of worst decisions of flickr ever. If they could return: YES!

The all black photo page was the killer.
For about two years (I believe) you could still call up the photo page from before the all black, by hacking the page URL, and thus get back the contextual strips.
www.flickr.com/help/forum/en-us/72157651290546681/#reply7...
I miss them very much too, it was so easy to locate a picture on the exact group page or Album page, and also remove it by clicking the little x top right, above the end of the strip.
ED: Big applause if those strips could be restored!

I'd like the ability to permanently set the sorting order for my albums.
When you add to an album the item goes at the end of the album, not the beginning, so I have to go into Organizer and reorder the album. I'd like to be able to set the order and have it persist.

Most of it I loved the easy way for roving around on flickr. Often a thumbnail next to the one of the photo triggered me to look at that other photo. And then you were on a photopage with other context strips with other photos and etc.
So you could jump from an album to a group to another group to another album to another group again to a photostream to another group to a gallery to another photostream to another album to another group etc, without the necessity to go first to the album/group pages where you will land at the top.
With the context strips it was easy to go around deep in albums and groups. With the current setup "most recent" (groups and photostreams) or "first added" (albums) gets priority above the gems that are hidden deep.

It woluld be great to see a customizable widget on mobile devices (Android & IOS) .
The idea came up because I love having the flickr slideshow integrated in the google-chromecast-dongle whenever the TV is on to see our pictures there.
It would be so nice to have a picture frame on the mobile device in form of a widget. Maybe also the time, weather, calendar entries could be integrated in a nice way. Then it would be great to be able to change the shown photos by album, tags, friend or family. I know that this is not really an important feature but as widgets also come up on iOS it would somehow be nice. Thanks for listening to our proposals (sorry for my English). Best Regards from Germany

This suggestion may seem counter intuitive but we think it bears some consideration in terms of promoting more social interaction between members.
Presently when one receives a comment below their photo from another member they can insert a 'thank you' message as a reply that is messaged back to that person. This means the recipient of the comment does not have to bother with going to the giver's photostream and leaving a comment on his/her photos. This basically means the giver gets nothing back for the effort.
If the recipient could not expect the giver to get the 'thank you' but would have to visit his/her photostream to give him/her the 'thank you' then it would force more interaction amongst members.
We realize there will be lots of opposition to this idea. The opposition will come from those who love to receive while not having to reciprocate. There are lots of such members. But, that is exactly the problem.

Yes, and that Thank you reply really annoys me as it shows up in my feed, and I think they have something interesting to say as a rely, but they don't., it's just a thank you directing me back to their photo page.
And I do not care if they visit my photostream or not.

sure, you can manually edit / delete such tag from a photo, on the photo page or with explorer.
what i am referring to is the global editing or deleting of such tags (with the edit / delete links on the tags page), when they are attached to many photos, making manually editing each photo unworkable.
some examples here:
www.flickr.com/help/forum/en-us/72157714645455548/
I cannot edit or delete this tag globally.
going to flickr.com/photos/loupiote/tags/lumará/
indicates: 0 photos with this tag.
so neither those url work to edit or delete that tag:
flickr.com/photos/loupiote/tags/lumará/edit/
flickr.com/photos/loupiote/tags/lumará/delete/
while I have in fact 4 public photos that have this tag:
www.flickr.com/search/?user_id=18623248%40N00&sort=da...
I have other examples if you need. It does not happen with all such tags. sometimes, tags have accents but don't show the issue.
PS: I reported this bug multiple times over the years, but it was never addressed :(

Another suggestion that would be incredibly helpful for flickr "power users":
Add a "batch delete tag" in the organizer, to delete a tag from just a batch of photos (selected in the batch area).
currently there is no easy way to do that. There is a very convoluted and time-consuming way to achieve this that, which involves multiple tag adding, tag-renaming, and tag deleting.
I know it is very unlikely to happen, because the organizer is a complicated piece of code that no-one at flickr wants to touch, because of the fear of breaking it. But frankly this is the best organizing power-tool that flickr has. And tag batch-delete is sorely missing from it.

My biggest request is to re-emphasize the use of and access to Collections. Presently, Collections are essential hidden, with no link fro my photo stream homepage. Such a direct link is entirely justified, as Collections are a major organizational tool for those of us with large photo collections on Flickr. Also, the Collections mosaic too has been non-functional for many months...

I have a modest proposal: fix the flickr app for my iPhone 6s, as I've been asking you to do for about a year.
Almost every time, if the app shows any notification at all, it's a "1." Very very commonly, the truth is somewhere between "2" and "16."
This feature broke when you moved flickr to a new cloud location, and I've been asking periodically since then to have it fixed. How about taking some of the tech geniuses off the new features, and fix the old ones?
I glance at the app maybe 10-20 times a day, and each time I am frustrated by your promises to "work on it," and your failure to fix it.

Stats request - There used to be a flickr page called "Archive" where the total numbers of my photos taken and posted per month were displayed under each year. I'd like to see this information displayed again.
UPDATE: Someone below has said this is what Camera Roll does now. This is not the case. I'm looking for the numbers of photos per year/month not thumbnails. That's why I started the post with "Stats request".
I think the Archive page did have links so that if you clicked on a month it would show you all the photos taken or posted in that month which was very useful.

One can only dream so, while we are at this, let's try some suggestions about searching. Because, in the end, searching is a big part of flickr's user experience.
- I don't know how to name this but the idea is: you're searching for, say, "house", then all these photos about houses show up. It would be nice to have some kind of "tag-cloud" with the most used tags in that selection of photos, so you can filter from there, both "positively" and "negatively", I mean, giving the option to show photos that include a certain tag or not showing those that include another one in particular. Yes, you can currently type "-certainTag" and that also works, but this visual feature would be faster and helpful.
- I don't know if this is currently possible but I haven't seen it. You now can choose to search just in a certain group. I would love to be able to search in a number of groups at the same time as an option.
- Also, once the search has been shown, it would be nice to be able to choose not to have results from a certain group, so all those photos from that particular group(s) disappear from the list of results, the same way as for "negative search" with tags.
- And the mother of all options to me: an improved map search in which you can actually draw the area in which you want to search. I don't know how hard it may be, but housing apps aready do so.
Thank you for taking the time to read this.

I belong to a Photography Club that is quite small in numbers (less than 50) and having our own Website is not economically feasible. We would like to see the current “Group” feature expanded to possibly contain options available that small clubs could utilize to help organize the flow of photos and the showcasing of them.
One useful feature would be the ability to create albums or galleries in the group page where a member would have the option to add a photo to a specific album/gallery that had been created by an admin person for purposes of containing images of a specific club event. Examples would be “Theme of the Month”, “Monthly Challenges”, “Field Trips”, etc. If an album is not specified as a destination then it would simply go into the current photo pool.
Thank you.

Entering tags and assigning photos to Groups can both be laborious tasks. For many photographers, like me, they probably use some tags repeatedly and assign their photographs to the many of the same groups. In fact the tasks of assigning tags and passwords individually to each photo, starting from scratch is so time-consuming that I post fewer photos to Flickr because of all the work that goes into posting each photo. And you have to do it if you want your photo to get noticed.
There should be utilities to copy many tags and groups at once either from one's standard list, or from one photograph to another. It is way too inconvenient now.

What is your problem that people use Flickr for Second Life? If you don't follow those accounts and not join their groupsn then you don't see them. So what's your problem?
What's your problem with inactive groups? If you are not a member of them, the you don't see them. So what's your problem?
What's your problem with multiple groups about the same subject? You are not obliged to join them all. You can limit your self to the for you most interesting. So what's your problem?
What's your problem that people add images and format text a bit? It can be useful and not allowing it would hurt my Flickr experience. So why do you want to limit the way other people use Flickr?

I agree that's horrible. Only I hardly see them because I stay away from groups that require them. At the other hand, sometimes I add a picture to comments for more explanation. But you want to take away that option. And you also want to take away the option to emphasize text when that makes sense. All those wishes are "Limit others!"
